Success is a journey and not a Destination, yet often being in a hurry to get there we forget that success is not an end unto itself but is instead an ongoing process. Though some people seem to have the Midas touch and easily turn everything to gold most of us have to give our endeavors lots of time, effort and the sweat of our brow before seeing things come to fruition. The simple truth is that the majority of us are simply not born leaders but become leaders by who we are and the actions we take. Consequently, whether or not you’re an established entrepreneur or just starting out on your journey, there are particular traits you’ll usually find operating within the exceptional entrepreneur. Successful Entrepreneurs:
Gain the Respect of their Peers
Believe and Trust in Themselves
Follow a Plan
Think Creatively
Explore Their Exceptional Skills
Envision Their Success
Never Give Up
I don’t think you need a lot of money or to have fame to be a successful entrepreneur. However, you do need intelligence, specifically, business intelligence or street smarts. You must come up with an idea, product or process that nobody have used or thought of before. You need to have passion, dedication and drive.
Also, you must be ambitious and willing to take more risks than the average person.
You will have to be good at dealing with people.
Finally, you must be willing to wear multiple hats and be able to be a manager, an accountant, a salesman and a worker. You must be able to do it all.
It’s very glamorous, but it is not easy.
I have found the best tool in beginning my own small business is the network of people that you surround yourself and how willing you are to learn about different approaches to business and how you want to run your own business!! A good support system in whatever venture you are undertaking will help you rise to the top because they will want to see you succeed just as they have!!
be honest
show up on time
let your yes mean yes and your no, no
take care of your customers
do a good job
be competitive with price
LOVE what you do and have fun doing it.
